Corrosion protection and decorative coatings
- Spray painting
- Galvanization zinc (usually hot dip galvanizing)
- Powder painting
Each of these protective or decorative coatings can be applied individually or in combination (zinc plated and painted, sprayed or powder-coated), but all of them are made outside our factory.
This is because only highly specialized companies can ensure the quality of the corrosion protection and decorative coating. This will last for many years and the maintenance of the products will be limited to cleaning dust from them under running water.
Most often, our customers order products for zinc plating, galvanizing and powder coating or only powder coating (typically decorative) for interior products. This is probably the choice that is influenced by the price, as spraying painting with all technological parameters is much more expensive than hot dip galvanizing and powder coating.
In Szczecin, hot dip galvanizing is carried out by two companies: Mabo (products up to 6m long) and Zinkpower, where elements up to 13m long can be galvanized. Their technology and workmanship are similar. There are many paint companies in the West Pomeranian region, but not all of them have a production process at the right level. Manufacturing processes in zinc shops and paint shops prefer flat structures, they are reluctant to accept spatial structures (e. g. balcony railings).
Welding during assembly should be avoided after the application of anti-corrosion or decorative coatings. Although we have a device allowing to connect galvanized elements without damaging the galvanized layer, it is a stationary device which is difficult to use when installing on the customer’s premises. We usually assemble the ordered construction elements by screwing or riveting them in order to avoid damage to the coatings.
